Last week I quit my 3rd job, as in I put in my two weeks prior and no longer do I have to work 65 plus hours a week! Really two jobs is enough for any one person...whew...time to breathe
You know what that means!! More crafting, less stressing. The past month or two have been havoc on me, and my crafting time. My car busted, an uncle died, a tooth got pulled on top of a sinus and double ear infection...YUCK
AND....micheals discontinued some yarn i was using in some baby crafts...which leaves me several things in limbo
on a plus side I got two new books that have inspired me to make more time to craft.
One is "Irresistible gifts to knit" by alan dart *from the bookzine section at Barnes and Nobles and Amigurumi KNits, patterns for 20 cute mini knits by Hansi Singh
Both are super cute and amazing photography, I can't wait to make a praying mantis or anglerfish complete with parasitic male!
I hope to post some photos soon of the MANY things I have made over the last month or two. :)
Happy crafting!
Let me spin you a tale about a gal who loves spooky things and making them out of yarn....

Idle hands

For sure I made: two doggie sweaters that were actually a cat hoodie pattern, one for my friend's dog Bella (boston terrier) and one for my mum's dog (jack russell)
a cupcake and ice cream cone purse
mom tattoo heart
an amigurumi eel
a zombie hello kitty
a ami styled Kuromi that I free handed
a mini hello kitty that I designed upon a friend's request for something tiny for charity
nintento mushroom purse(based upon the cupcake purse pattern)
a jack skellington tea cozy
knitted zero
knitted wine cozy, pattern from Knitty.com (go there its awesome)
I also made some amigurumi veggies, elephant and baby blocks for my boyfriends new niece, she loved them and promptly drooled upon them as if to claim them as hers!
Needless to say that I am quickly running out of yarn! It's a great feeling to get so much done!
Sadly I only have a few pics from the above projects ENJOY!

PS (all patterns are hyperlinked to the description! Free patterns yeah!)

Your craft partner sucks
The holidays are stressful, full of money worries, racing around and it seems less and less thought is put into gifts *not all, but alot* being in retail I rarely come across a customer who seems to really know the person they are shopping for.....and always end up getting a gift card or something on clearance *which is bad luck...LOL*
anyways....
I was very excited over my gifts this Christmas. Normally I don't get much if anything at all, Bill spoiled me last year with a winter coat and this year our house was gifted with an awesome large box of ARCHIE MCPHEE goodness. awesome. My boyfriends step dad gave me 50 dollars, which I spent on a present for Tori (sadly I couldn't afford her one and this was a great opportunity that I couldn't pass up so she now has a large Indiana Jones car scene chase set!) and Tom gave me a coffin case purse! WOW! Never before have I had so many good things happen to me on a holiday.
I feel bad since these things are materialistic and that shouldn't be what makes the holidays great, but it was nice to get my oldest daughter something cool and rubbing giant devil duckies on my person was awesome, and coffins...pfft...always amazing!
But I was saddened the other day when I noticed a gal on my craftster group got totally hosed by her swap partner on a nightmare before xmas swap (i wasnt able to join this as I had school going on and didn't have the time)
anyways
she posted the pictures of what she made, needless to say I would have shat my pants to receive such amazing jack skellington goodies....but her partner.....sent her...well...crap... And i mean that in the most pooey part of the word. Poor gal received 5 items that were basically mundane (notebook, glass jar, cup) and were white poofy painted with jacks face....damn freakin sad......
So I wrote her telling her that I felt bad that she got crap for xmas. seriously....she got crap....and I wanted to be the person who turned that around. So I asked if she would send me her addy so I could make her some NBC stuff and make her (and her daughter) uber happy...and in return...I get nice warm fuzzies.....mm...warm....
She is an amazing lady and the swap left a bad taste in her mouth, and her daughter and her were looking forward to seeing what they were going to get...and now....they will both get a chance to get something personal and hand made!
Already I have completed a skellington tea cozy and I plan on sending her my acrylic portraits of Jack and Sally that I did 8 years ago. More is in the works...and like always I will use what I have!
:)
warm fuzzies people...do nice things....for no other reason than it makes you feel good...
and maybe someday...I might make you a tea cozy too...
LOL
happy new year!

moehawks, shrinky dinks and my adventures late into the night
Lately I have had a hard time sleeping, but because I am SOOOOO excited about a knitting/crochet/craft project.
really...
it consumes me!
So late last night I whipped up this apple hat as per request from an old school chum of mine

I think my camera is wonky since all the pics I took tilting the camera came out WAYYY weird. My head went into conehead area...creepy...and defiantly not post worthy *LOL*
Then I saw a few Mohawk knitted hats on the craftster forum and I checked into the "Pretty in Punk" book but I wanted to make it NOW...that and I don't know how to knit very well yet, making a hat seems scary *ooooohh shivers* so I decided to make my own creation with acrylic yarn and crochet.
It came out "okay", not really sure I like the design of it. I think it could use a tighter stitch and the hawk looks short awkward. Maybe it's just me...

also in the wee hours I decided I needed some fancy shrinky dink knitting stitch markers, so I did. Just pulled them out of the oven...
*smells the warm plastic*
ahh....it's going to be a good day :3

Cause Girls just wanna have fun...and knit

(my nuts, let me show them too you)
Crochet acorn amigurumi, own design
Today was a pretty busy day for me. I took my last college final, next semester I plan on going part time...so I don't lose all my marbles :P
While waiting for my teacher to show up *yeah, she shows up for finals over 15 minutes late!* all I could think about was my knitting project at home.
Been working on that pirate hat from helloyarn.com and it's coming along pretty well, even though I messed up on the counting and I mixed up the pattern in one spot it looks pretty tight and the yarn isn't bunching as of yet. Sadly it is a bit...big...so either it's going to be a pink purple skull hat for a large headed person or it might make a kick ass bag for me *who knows!* I have only a few inches of it done, even after 12 hours put into it. Man, knitting takes forever, but it looks so pretty!
but anyways, it would have been nice to have my knitting with me, if only I would have known she was going to be late! After final I had work, then pick up kid, then go to store to find present for birthday party to attend, eat, go to roller skating party then target then home. whew...I am beat....
but am I too tired to knit?
NEVER!
here are my cool links for the day
another obession of mine PAPERCRAFT!
Folding Trees, a wonderful blog with great paper craft ideas for the artsy fartsy person in all of us!

Knit skull Headwarmer
I finally broke down a few days ago and self taught myself Fair isle knitting. It's not all that hard but it is kind wonky at first. It tends to bunch and it looks kinda bad from the back side (only when working with larger blocks of color mind you
here is my second attempt at Fair isle, not too shappy. I (mostly) followed this Pattern from RockinKNit
http://rockinknit.com/rblog/2008/11/02/skull-cowl/
it looks odd as it is still wet from my first attempt at blocking. Pretty happy with it :) Skullz are cool

This was my first attempt, you can see where I botched on the boarder but in all it came out okay. I still need how to cast on better and make and edge so the edges don't curl so bad. I learned that switching to smaller needles is a BEEOTCH and I don't care for it....
no sir...not at all
All this knitting has me in a fever, I have several circular sets of needles *and no idea how to properly use them* and only two sets of regular needles, planning on investing on some double pointed needles in the near future as i have evil plans to make skull hats and mittens from the most excellent site http://helloyarn.com/freepatterns.htm
PPS
I have to add that unless I am going to post my stuff on Deviantart I will no longer be posting pics on myface or facenook, seems like overkill don't you think? Blogging feels good...mmm...mmm...good so all my tasty items will be here from here on out. WHoopie!

So here it is!
After years of interbutt usage, I have finally decided to set up my own blog.
I enjoy crafting a lot, and I would like to share what I have found.
People that have similar interests (or anyone who enjoys the goofy stuff that is out there) will point and laugh or stare in horror at the things I find made of yarn.
Some stuff might be craft related or it might be just silly or even SPOOKY (my personal fave)
So I will post as I get more information and get a grip on this whole blogging thing.
